Strategic Pillars

Tribal Development
Linking existing grassroots level Adivasi / farmers’ groups (CBOs) to existing movements – and building their capacities on issues and leadership – but not being in the forefront of such movements nor initiating own movement
Strategic goal 1
By 2025, SIGN and its partners will have strengthened their links with existing non-violent Adivasi movements and will have facilitated the Adivasi communities in operational areas to join these movements and work for their rights related to Adivasi identity, land and forest and other concerns

 

Community Led Development
From ‘Community based’ to ‘Community led’ development process
Strategic goal 2
By 2025, SIGN and its partners will change its approach and style of functioning to ensure that the partner communities will be leading their grassroots and macro organizations and development process rather than SIGN and its partners

 

Natural Resource Management & Livelihood

 

a) Climate Adaptive Agriculture
From ‘Agriculture development’ to ‘Climate adaptive agriculture development’
Strategic goal 3a
SIGN and its partners will incorporate Climate adaptive agriculture strategies in their agriculture programs  

 

b) Sustainable farming
Macro level Farmers’ producers’ / processing / marketing organization(s) (including women)
Strategic goal 3b
By 2025, SIGN and its partners will have created a community led profitable macro level economic entity at Jharkhand level to process and market the farm produce of farmers (including women farmers) at a collective level and increase the incomes of member farmers

 

c) Food Sovereignty
From ‘Food Security’ to ‘Food sovereignty’
Strategic goal 3c
SIGN and its partners will have moved from ‘Food Security’ to ‘Food sovereignty’ in their program, facilitating the communities to work towards food sovereignty

 

Children’s Parliament
Children’s Parliaments of adolescents
Strategic goal 4
By 2025, SIGN and its partners will be running children’s parliaments with state to village connect where children will be developing as responsible citizens conscious of their duties and rights and will raise their voices in favour of their rights

 

Human Trafficking and Migration
Anti-Trafficking and safe Migration program – with local youth as volunteers
Strategic Goal 5
By 2025, SIGN and its partners will be running an Anti-Trafficking and safe Migration program which will have ensured reduction in cases of trafficking of children and adults and facilitated safe migration of adults

 

Resource Mobilization/Sharing
Resource Mobilization from rich and middle class and from poor communities
Strategic goal 6
By 2025, SIGN and its partners will raise an income of INR________ or ____% of their total budget, whichever is greater, from local Indian and Jharkhand sources

 

Volunteerism
Volunteering – teenagers and above
Strategic goal 7
By 2025, SIGN and its partners will have mobilized at least 500 volunteers each, who will devote at least 2 hours of work per week in their respective areas of work

 

Institutional Development and Good Governance
Strategic goal 8
By 2025, SIGN and its partners will have second line leaders prepared, who are capable of preparing project proposal, keeping proper Documentation, monitoring the project and sound financial department

 

Inter-Religious Harmony
Strategic goal 9
By 2025, SIGN and its partners will have cordial relationship with other Non Governmental religious Institutions/groups

 

Gender, Health and Education will be the cross-cutting issues in most of the Strategic Pillars
